Common questions
How do I sync my library between my devices?
ReadList syncs through iCloud. In ReadList, open Settings › iCloud Sync and check that it’s on, and make sure every device is signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on.
Does the Apple Watch app need my iPhone nearby?
No. The watch app reads your library from iCloud, so you can start, pause and end reading sessions and log your progress from your wrist even when your iPhone isn’t with you.
I bought ReadList Pro, but it isn’t showing. What should I do?
Open Settings in ReadList and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Use the same Apple Account you bought Pro with.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. While Pro is active, open Settings in ReadList and tap Manage Subscription, or go to your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions. The Lifetime plan is a single payment, so there’s nothing to cancel.
Can I bring my books over from Goodreads or another app?
Yes. Open Settings › Import Library and choose where your books come from; ReadList walks you through each step. Importing is always free.
How do I export my data?
Open Settings › Export Data to save a spreadsheet (CSV), a complete archive (JSON), a reading report (PDF) or your quotes and notes (Markdown). Exports come with ReadList Pro. Automatic backups are always free, in Settings › Backup & Restore.
I deleted a book by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. Open Settings › Library › Recently Deleted to bring back deleted books, quotes and notes.
I can’t find my book in search. Can I add it anyway?
Yes. In Search, choose Add Manually and enter the title and author.
Where is my reading data stored?
On your device and, with iCloud Sync on, in your own iCloud account. The privacy policy has the details.
